Book Summary

Seventeen-year-old Elle Collins spent most her life waiting for someone else to die…

When a heart donor is found, Elle awakes from surgery gifted with more than just a new heart—clairaudient messages and spiritual apparitions haunt her until she is convinced that she must be insane. Either that, or her donor is sending a message.

Desperate for answers the medical community can’t provide, Elle’s divination leads her to the family of her donor—a young girl named, Cas. With the help of her best friend, Rob—the guy who’s a testament that her new heart is capable of love, Elle must make sense of the clues Cas is sending. As pieces of Cas’s life and death emerge, Elle will discover that she and Cas share more than just a heart.

Long Review:  This is the perfect October read to get you in the Halloween spirit. Danielle R. Mani did an amazing job with this story. I loved the characters, the mystery, the paranormal, the plot twists! So good!

Let’s start with Elle, she is the perfect main character. She is a character that you immediately like and want the best for after the first chapter. Watching her go through the crazy stuff she does throughout the novel makes you like her even more.  I for one would have totally thought I had lost my marbles if I woke up from a surgery hearing voices and having visions. She took it all in stride and just wanted to find answers.

I also really enjoyed the other characters. Rob was my favorite supporting character for sure. He’s such an amazing friend to Elle, and I don’t think she could have gotten through everything without him. Elle’s doctor, Scott, and his mother, Jocelyn, were not my favorite. I will let you be the judge of that though.

The overall story was captivating. I’m a sucker for mysteries and supernatural stories so this was right up my alley. This is a spoiler free review so all I can say is WOW!
